Fashion Forward: Designing the Future

7th - 9th Grade
Meets on campus from 9am to 12pm (noon), July 28 - 31
Led by Lauren Agnew, laboratory coordinator for the Center for Merchandising and Design Technology
Would you call yourself a Tech Trendsetter? A Stylish Scientist? A Runway Researcher?
Join the Center for Merchandising and Design Technology for a four-day workshop focused on the cutting-edge technology that is shaping the future of fashion! In this hands-on camp, you’ll dive into the latest industry innovations such as thermal manikins, 3D body scanners, and eye-tracking glasses! You will gain industry insight into how companies test and refine their fashion products, combining fields such as design, chemistry, physics, and engineering. Additionally, as part of our Design Thinking Challenge, you'll identify a real-world fashion problem faced by a family member or friend and brainstorm creative, tech-driven solutions.
Please keep in mind that student interest in the topic enhances not only their experience, but also that of their fellow campers.
If financial barriers would limit your participation, please email us at cese@cmich.edu to talk about how we can make our programs accessible for you.
