PR Pros for Paws: A Humane Storytelling Adventure!

6th - 9th Grade
Meets on campus from 9am to 12pm, July 14-17
Led by Elina Erzikova, CMU faculty in the School of Communication, Journalism and Media
In this hands-on public relations camp, students will step into the role of PR managers for the Humane Animal Treatment Society (HATS) in Mt. Pleasant, MI! You’ll work as a team to design promotional materials while also learning how to use AI ethically in your PR work. You will pitch story ideas to local media and create video messages that share the stories of rescued animals. These messages will help connect with supporters and encourage adoption. By the end of the camp, you’ll see how PR can make a real difference for animals in need!
Please keep in mind that student interest in the topic enhances not only their experience, but also that of their fellow campers.
If financial barriers would limit your participation, please email us at cese@cmich.edu to talk about how we can make our programs accessible for you.
