Movement and Learning: A Multidisciplinary Workshop
Get your students moving! In this workshop, we will model and practice how to incorporate movement into lesson plans from any discipline (be it ELA, science, math or social studies) to support a diversity of learners. Examples from previous workshops include a dance created to help students remember the branches of government and movement games invented to teach the parts and functions of the human eye. Teachers who take this workshop will leave with finished lesson plans ready to use in their own classrooms that are specific to their curriculum. No dance experience is necessary! Workshop instructors Wiline Pangle (Biology) and Heather Trommer-Beardslee (Dance) will lead you through a process of incorporating movement into your lessons in order to engage active learning practices in your classroom.
Intended for teachers grades K - 7th. If outside of that grade band, please contact Ashley O’Neil at biede1aj@cmich.edu
